Cultural Resources Technical Working Group Meeting Materials
The Cultural Resources Technical Working Group (Cultural TWG) is one of five Technical Working Groups established by PCWA in June 2006. The Cultural TWG has met regularly throughout the relicensing process. Initially, the meetings focused on developing a common understanding of the Project facilities and operations and identifying potential resource issues. Later, the meetings focused on developing a draft Technical Study Plan (TSP) that outlines how PCWA would inventory cultural and historic properties in the vicinity of the Project, and how PCWA would determine whether any of the resources are eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The Draft TSP was approved by the Plenary and included in PCWA’s Pre-Application Document (PAD). The Cultural resources studies are currently in progress and the TWG continues to meet regularly to discuss study progress and results. Eventually, the TWG members will utilize the study results and conclusions to help formulate potential protection, mitigation, and enhancement measures related to cultural resources, and to develop a Historic Properties Management Plan (HPMP).
