Middle Fork American River Project Annual Maintenance Outage

September 29, 2011

Subject to Change

The Middle Fork Project (MFP) is scheduled to be fully shut down for annual maintenance from October 3 through about October 28 and then partially shut down through about November 23.  Major tasks include general inspections and as-needed maintenance of flow valves, reservoir spill gates, and turbines, and new governor installation at Middle Fork Powerhouse Unit #1.  As in years past, streamflows associated with the MFP will be modified to accommodate the scheduled maintenance and ensure all minimum flow requirements and consumptive water demands are met.  Generally, flows in the Rubicon and Middle Fork American rivers above Ralston Afterbay will be approximately 10-40 cfs higher and flows in the Middle Fork American River below Ralston Afterbay/Oxbow Powerhouse will be substantially lower than recently.

Please contact Andy Fecko or Ben Ransom at (530) 823-4889 for more information.
